英語教學大綱規定高中畢業學生達到“能在學過的題材和語言范圍內寫短文和書信,意思連貫,拼寫正確,語法用詞、標點和格式基本正確”。為此,我們在高三復習的同時開展了課外英語寫作活動。以寫作來促進語法、詞匯和句型的復習。通過點撥、誘導、啟發使學生克服了對英語寫作的畏難情緒,激發成功的樂趣和提高了表達能力。本文以寫氣候為例。
一、提供范文
活動一開始,我們以BookⅡ(J.)第十五課課文TheSeasons為作文的范文,先讓學生閱讀模仿,然后兩人一組用完整句子回答理解題。
二、歸納詞語
范文中往往有大量的詞匯和詞語要求學生歸納整理。學生板書所學有關氣候的詞匯和短語。

三、組織提綱
根據范文我們給學生一組問題,讓學生根據實際情況進行回答或兩人一組進行口頭作文。這組問題實際上是口(筆)頭作文的提綱,在口頭作文的基礎上進行書面作文。(1)Howmanyseasonsarethereinyourcountry?(2)Whatarethenamesoftheseasons?(3)Howistheweatherinthewinte,summer,springandautumn?(4)Whatisthebestseasonoftheyear?why?(5)Whatseasondoyoulikebest?why?(6)Isthereanythingcertainabouttheweatherinyourcountry?
四、補充詞語
學生在根據提綱作文時需要一些能表達自己思想的詞語。教師有意識地補充擴大有關天氣的詞語。諸如:

Sheisarough-weatherfriend.
Someoneisasfickleastheweather.
Everybodytalksabouttheweather,butnobodydoesanythingaboutit.
我們還選抄了一首小詩,讓他們朗讀。

最后讓學生以Theweatherin…或MyFavorite為題寫一篇100字左右的文章并在組內進行交流。下面選取一篇為例。
